It started out as a landscape and I was to paint a scene but the single figure on the wall is too symbolic to show what he’s looking at. No one got it but me. It’s a symbol of me, of course, alone on a wall, but it’s “everyman”. We are all on a wall with our toolbox from our jobs, with an undetermined future not sure if what we see is real.
