It took years for this painting to be finished. It seemed like I kept failing and adding more paint. A stairway of effort and striving. It's not stairs, of course, it always needs a name and "My soul on canvas" just does work. Here it would. A heavy painting.
This took years. There are many paintings underneath. It's about the struggle, I think. The art struggle, the reaching without knowing
Not that I worked on it for years. It would sit over there, then I'd attack it with paint. When I finally finished it, I said, "I did it!" I don't exactly know what that it was.The struggle itself for beauty, the struggle for life.
